When I was younger, my mother was always behind a camera, capturing our lives….and being an inspiration for my passion for photography. I started learning, understanding and loving photography with my mother’s now vintage Canon camera and processing film in a darkroom. Once I purchased my first DSLR, I started working in the theater community doing headshots and that blossomed into opening Heather Smith Photography for portrait sessions with couples, families, and high school seniors and culinary photography. It has been a great experience.

Living in New England with my husband and three dogs has given me many opportunities to embrace the beauty in my surroundings, and I wouldn't change it for anything.  I can usually be found with my camera catching candid moments with friends, getting artistic with my meal, or taking many, many photos of my photogenic pets.
